HORSEPOWER

Quick Estimate for required Engine Horsepower. 1HP is required to produce one GPM flow at 1500 PSI.

Selecting an Engine

Gasoline powered units can be built with Briggs Stratton, Kohler, Honda, or Robin gasoline engines.

Diesel power can be Yanmar, John Deere, Duetz, Hatz, and Lombardini.

Selecting A Reservoir

Reservoirs are sized by the gallons per minute flow, the operating pressure, and the duty cycle of the application. As a guide you will need 1 to 3 gallons of reservoir capacity for each gallon of flow, depending on the pressure and whether the load is continuous or intermittent. Our rugged steel reservoirs are custom built in-house to insure long lasting quality. To calculate the volume of the reservoir you would multiply the Length X Height X Width, then Divide this Total by 231.

Example: 18″ X 15″ X 20″ = 5400 cu. in. divided by 231 = 23.4 Gallons.

If you have space limitations a heat exchanger could be added to reduce the reservoir size.

Gasoline Units

Briggs, Stratton, Honda, Robin or your choice of power can be used to power a hydraulic unit built to your performance requirements.

Electric Units

Single or three phase motors can be built for your specific industrial or mobile applications. Fractional to 50 HP.

Diesel Units

Long running and dependable diesel engines from 8 to 100 HP can be used to meet your individual hydraulic power unit needs.
